On Friday, October 25 from 6 to 9 pm in the Student Union Multipurpose Room B, T.J. Parsell, author of Fish, will be screening a rough cut of his documentary followed by a lively discussion. This event is sponsored by the First Year Experience Program.
T.J. Parsell is an American writer, filmmaker and human rights activist committed to ending prison rape. At age 17, he was sentenced to four years in prison, where he was sexually assaulted numerous times. T.J. has since written the award-winning book Fish: A Memoir of a Boy in a Man’s Prison, which details the sexual violence he experienced.
Today T.J. is a leading human rights activist working to reform the prison system and end prison rape. His documentary, Fish: A Boy in a Man’s Prison, will be a film adaptation of his book.
